The Hartford Courant named 11 NWC student-athletes to its All-Courant teams for Winter '11-'12 – including two who were honored as the Players of the Year for their respective sports.

This is believed to be the first time in school history that two NWC athletes were named Players of the Year in the same season. The Players of the Year are Sarah Gillespie ’13 (Girls’ Indoor Track) and Kuran Iverson ’13 (Boys’ Basketball). Click here for a story and video about Sarah, and here for coverage of Kuran.  

The five students who made All-Courant teams were:
*Jared Delane ’13 – Boys’ Indoor Track (300m)
*Sarah Gillespie ’13 – Girls’ Indoor Track Athlete of the Year (1000m, 1600m)
*Kuran Iverson ’13 – Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year
*Patrick Melanson ’13 – Ice Hockey (Forward)
*Tanner Vaughn ’12 – Ice Hockey (Defenseman)

Six students received Honorable Mention:
*Nicholas Gaynor ’13 – Boys’ Basketball
*Jeff Greenwood ’13 – Ice Hockey
*Tyler Huffman ’12 – Boys’ Basketball
*AJ Massaro ’12 – Ice Hockey
*Brian Poirier ’12 – Boys’ Indoor Track
*Alyssa Reaves ’13 – Girls’ Basketball
