NWC's Girls' Lacrosse team made school history on June 9, beating Granby Memorial, 12-10, in the State Championship game at Bunnell High School in Stratford.

This is the first lax title (boys or girls) for NWC, and boosted the total number of team State Championships during this school year to five -- also a record. (The prior record was four, set in 2009-10.)

The other NWC teams that won State Titles this year are Girls' Soccer, Boys' Indoor Track, Boys' Golf, and Boys' Outdoor Track.

In addition, NWC athletes also won State Championships in the following individual events:

* Brian Butler '12 -- Boys' Golf
* Jared Delane '13 – Indoor and Outdoor Track (4 individual events)
* Sarah Gillespie '13 – Indoor and Outdoor Track (4 individual events, plus two State Opens)
* Brian Poirier '12 -- Indoor and Outdoor Track (3 individual events) and Cross Country
* Galo Rodriguez '13 -- Outdoor Track (1 individual event)

* Girls' Sprint Medley Relay Team – Indoor Track
* Boys' 4x400m Relay Team – Outdoor Track
