Thurs., May 16

Baseball

The Varsity Baseball team hosted Hall and lost a tough game with a final score of 2-4. Connor Dunn '14 took the loss on the mound but pitched outstandingly. Brendan Fox '13 led the offense with 2 hits, while Mac Crispino '13 and Hunter Tralli '15 played well defensively.

The JV team lost a tough game to Hall with a final score of 1-4. Brendan MacCallum '16 pitched well in the loss and the offense was led by Christian Flynn '14, who had 3 hits, and Aaron Renker '16, who had 2 hits.

The team's next game is Mon. May 20 vs. Newington at Northwest at 3:45.

Softball

The Varsity Softball team travaled to Hall and defeated the Warriors with a final score of 10-4. Kathleen Yorio '16 pitched well, while Song Ha Ryu '15, Kaitlin McGuire '16 and Christal Riley '16 all played great games.

The team's next game is Mon., May 20 at Newington at 7:00.

Boys' Lacrosse

The Varsity Boys' Lacrosse team hosted Farmington on Senior Day and won a great game with the final score of 7-6. Playing well offensively for the Indians were Ian McCarthy '13, Arnoldo Ballestas '13, Brian Kelleher '13, Ryan Jendraszek '13. Playing well defensively were John Connors '13, Alex Hunter '13, Cormac McKenna '13 and Chris Thomas '13. Playing well in goal was Austin McCarthy '13.

The team's next game will be in the CCC Tournament on Tues. May 21.

Boys' Tennis

The Varsity Boys' Tennis team lost a tough game match to Newington by a final score of 2-5. Winning their matches were the doubles team of Ted Vincens '13 and Patrick Lazor '16 and the doubles team of WIll Smullen '14 and Christian Smith '15.

The team's next game is Mon. May 20 at Conard at 3:45.

Girls' Tennis

The Varsity Girls' Tennis team continued their perfect ways with a 7-0 victory over East Hartford. Leading the way for the Indians was Angela Miguel '15, who qualified for the state tournament as an individual as #2 singles. Also playing well were Anna Case '15, Charlotte Carew '15 and Mary Kate Rogers '14. Northwest is 14-0 on the season and has now qualified the most individuals for the state tournament a team can, being the first team in Northwest Catholic history to send #1 and #2 singles and doubles to the state tournament.

The team's next match is Mon. May 20 vs. Bristol Central at 3:45.

Wed., May 15

Baseball

The Varsity Baseball team traveled to Memorial Field in Simsbury to take on the Trojans under the lights and came away with the victory with a final score of 5-1. Mac Crispino '13 threw all seven innings on the mound to get the victory. Crispino also paced the offense with three hits, while Dylan Robinson '13 and Will Carew '13 played well.

The team's next game is Thurs. May 16 vs. Hall at Northwest at 4:30.

Softball

The Varsity Softball team lost a hardfought game to Simsbury with a final score of 1-4. Kathleen Yorio '16 pitched well, while Kristen Young '13, Alisha Collazo '14 and Colleen Goroshko '15 played well.

The team's next game is Thurs. May 16 at Hall at 3:45.

Playing well for the Indians was Chris McLaughlin '14, Aidan McDonnell '14 and John Fox '14. Austin McCarthy '13 played well in goal, while Alex Hunter '13 and Cormac McKenna '13 played well defensively.

The team's next game is Thurs. May 16 vs. Farmington at Northwest at 4:00.

Playing well for the Indians were Cathy Higgins '13, Emily Kearney '13, MaryKate Bourdon '13, Lauren Cenci '15, and Grace Hayes '15. Playing well in goal were Christina Wilson '15 and Kirsten Greene '16.

The JV team lost a hardfought game to Berlin. Playing well were Abby Visintainer '16 and Lauren Italia '16.

The team's next game is Tues. May 21 at East Catholic at 4:00.

The Varsity Boys' Tennis team lost a tough match to Berlin with a final score of 1-6. Winning their match was the doubles team of Oliver Hasson '16 and Adam Mendoza '15.

Girls' Golf

The Varsity Girls' Golf team hit the links at Timberlin GC vs. Berlin and lost a tough match with a final score of 189-173. Sadie Martinez '13 medaled shooting an impressive 40, while Lauren Bellizzi '14 also played well, shooting 47.

The team's next match is Mon. May 20 vs. Conard at Wamponoag CC at 3:00.

Tues., May 14

Softball

The Varsity Softball team defeated Farmington with a final score of 8-4. Playing well for the Indians were Lucia Barresi '16, Kristen Young '13 and Alisha Collazo '14.

The team's next game is Wed. May 15 at Simsbury at 3:45.

The Varsity Boys' Lacrosse team hosted Berlin at Northwest Catholic and came away with a huge 13-9 victory, which clinched a birth in the Class S State Tournament for the team. Playing well for the Indians were Chris McLaughlin '14, John Fox '14 and Ryan Donohue '14.

The team's next game is Wed. May 15 at Tolland at 4:00

Girls' Lacrosse

The Varsity Girls' Lacrosse team traveled to RHAM to take on the Sachems and came away with a great victory with the final score of 14-4. Playing well for Northwest were Cathy Higgins '13, Emily Kearney '13 and MaryKate Bourdon '13.

The JV team also came out victorious with a 6-4 win over RHAM. Playing well for the Indians were Lauren Italia '16, Caitlin O'Sullivan '15 and Elhan Mohamood '16.

The team's next game is Wed. May 15 vs. Berlin at Northwest Catholic at 4:00.

The Varsity Boys' Tennis team hosted East Hartford and won with an impressive score of 7-0. Playing well for the Indians were Nick Bragaia '14, Christian Smith '15, Peter Armetta '14, Ryan Allberry '14 and Adam Mendoza '15.

The team's next match is Wed. May 15 vs. Berlin at the University of St. Joseph at 3:45.

Girls' Tennis

The Varsity Girls' Tennis team continued to shock the state and continued their impressive winning streak, improving to 13-0 on the season after a great 7-0 victory over Conard. The #1 doubles team of Madga Lenczewski '13 and Gigi Giannone '15 and the #2 doubles team of Rachel Poirier '14 and Grace Deneen '14 won decisively and qualified for the state tournament.

The team's next match is Thurs. May 16 vs. East Hartford at the University of St. Joseph at 3:45.

Boys' Golf

The Varsity Boys' Golf team hit the links at Simsbury Farms CC and lost a tough match to Simsbury with the final score of 166-149. Playing well for the Indians were Chris Butler '16 and Tad Link '14.

Outdoor Track

The Outdoor Track team traveled to Newington High School to take on the Indians in their last dual meet of the season. Both teams competed well with the boys' team narrowly losing by a score of 67-74, while the girls' team defeated Newington with a score of 87-46.

On the girls' side, the 4x800 relay team of Megan Grandell '16, Haley Derlinga '13, Molly McDonald '14, and Bitty Lathrop '13, the 4x400 relay team of Rose O'Brien '14, Claire Hurtado '16, Jenna Jordano '13 and Lathrop, and the 4x100 relay team of Chiara Santavenere '15, Micayla Hopson '14, Gabrielle Giangreco '13 and Jordano all were victorious. Also winning on the track were Sarah Gillespie '13, who won the 800, 1600, and 3200; Giangreco who won the 100m dash and the 200m dash; Jordano, who won the 400m and O'Brien, who won the 300m hurdles. Winning field events were Alanna Bumbray '14 in the discus; Alexandra McKenna '13 in the javelin; Gabrielle Foster-Bey '13 in the triple jump and Allie Kaehrle '14 in the high jump.

On the boys' side, the 4x800 relay team of Owen Eagan '14, Justin Drisdelle '15, Joe Doyle '13 and Anthony Ravosa '13 and the 4x400 relay team of Tim Dodds '14, Drisdelle, Doyle and Ravosa were both victorious. Also winning in the track events were Galo Rodriguez '13 in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles, Chris Grenham '13 in the 100 and the 200, Dodds in the 800 and Doyle in the 1600 and 3200. Winning in the field event was Nick Collazo '13, who won the shot put.

The team's next meet is Wed. May 22 at the CCC Conference Championships at Simsbury High School.

Mon., May 13

Baseball

The Varsity Baseball team improved to 12-4 on the season with a huge 5-3 victory over Conard. John Arel '14 went the distance on the mound, allowing no earned runs and striking out 11 batters. Andrew Dornfried '13 led the offense with 3 hits and 4 stolen bases. Mac Crispino '13 and Dylan Robinson '14 also chipped in with 2 hits apiece.

The JV team improved to 9-6 on the season with a 6-5 win over Conard. RJ Place '15 picked up the victory on the mound, striking out 9 batters, while Matt Boone '16 came in to record the save. Brendan MacCallum '16 paced the offense with a huge 3 of 3 day at the plate.

The team's next game is Wed. May 15 vs. Simsbury at Memorial Field at 7:00.

Softball

The Varsity Softball team lost a tough game to Conard with a final score of 3-13. Kathleen Yorio '16 pitched well, while Alisha Collazo '14 paced the offense and played well behind the plate. Kristen Young '13 and Sabrina Carreira '15 each played well defensively.

The team's next game is Tues. May 14 at Tunxis Mead Park vs. Farmington at 4:00.

The Varsity Girls' Tennis team hosted Hall in a huge CCC West battle and came away with a monstrous 6-1 victory to improve their record to an impressive 12-0 on the season. Playing well for the Indians were Anna Case '15, Angela Miguel '15 and Mary Kate Rogers '14.

The team's next match is Tues. May 14 at Conard at 3:45.

Boys' Golf

The Varsity Boys' Golf team traveled to Mohegan Sun Country Club to play in the first 18 hole tournament of the year and had an impressive finish, placing 8th overall. Leading the way for the Indians was Chris Butler '16, who shot 87.

The team's next match is Tues. May 14 at Simsbury Farms CC vs. Simsbury at 3:00.

Girls' Golf

The Varsity Girls' Golf team traveled to Tunxis Plantation CC to take on perrenial powerhouse Farmington and lost a tough match with a final score of 188-179. Sadie Martinez '13 paced the Indians with an impressive 37, + 1 overall, medaling and setting the new team record for low round and low differential (1.2).

The team's next match is Tues. May 14 at Timberlin Golf Course vs. Berlin at 3:00.
