Admissions Process

Because Northwest Catholic is a college-prep high school, admission is based upon a student's academic potential, past academic performance, results of our Entrance Exam, and acceptable standards of behavior.

Applicants to grade nine should submit the completed application (which includes one section that must be completed by the student) and a $25 application fee. Applicants must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT), which will be given on Sat., Dec. 4, 2010, and Jan. 22, 2011, at Northwest Catholic High School. This test will also be given at other Catholic high schools in the area; however, only those students who take the exam on Dec. 4, 2010, at NWC will be considered for academic scholarships.

Northwest Catholic also requires middle school transcripts, which will be submitted from the student's current school. In some cases, an interview may also be required before an admissions decision will be made.

Transfer applicants to grade 10 should also submit the completed application and $30 application fee. These students must also take the HSPT and submit transcripts from their current school. In addition, each applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or school administrator that addresses the student's character and discipline record.

Transfer applicants to grades 11 and 12 must submit the completed application, $30.00 fee, and an official transcript. All upperclass transfer applicants must also schedule a personal interview, once the rest of the supporting documents have been submitted. To set up the interview, please contact Mrs. Cindy Fusco, Assistant Director of Admissions, at 860.236.4221, x161 or cfusco@nwcath.org.
