Northwest Catholic has a personalized, friendly Admissions process. Our goal is to help prospective students and their families discover "the school where they know that they belong."
The Admissions process at Northwest Catholic begins each year in October, when the Admissions Office hosts regional information sessions throughout the Greater Hartford region. This is followed by an Open House at the school in early November.
Applicants to Grades 9 or 10 must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Students should click here to submit an application and their application fee ($25 for applicants to 9th grade, $30 for all other applicants). This test is also given at other Catholic high schools in the area; however, only incoming 9th-grade students who take the November or December exam at NWC will be considered for academic scholarships.
In early November, tuition assistance applications will be mailed to all applicants. A link to the Private School Aid Service is also found on the NWC website. The deadline for families to submit their application is December 31.
Admissions decisions will be mailed to all applicants beginning in late January/early February, with tuition assistance awards mailed in early March. Beginning in February, accepted students will meet with NWC Admissions staff or school administrators for course selection. Placement tests in Algebra, Spanish and French for students currently enrolled in these courses in middle school will take place in June.
