Athletics are a critical component in the physical, social, emotional, and moral development of our students and a necessary complement to their academic education. This philosophy is articulated in the Summer 2008 issue of our school magazine, Logos. We are very proud of our long and successful athletic history.

About 82% of NWC students now participate in sports, on one of our 44 different teams or in our intramural program.

Participation in the NWC athletic program is not a right of all students, but rather, a privilege afforded to those who possess ability, positive attitude, cooperative spirit, and the desire to represent our community favorably. Athletes and their parents are meant to read and accept the contents of the NWC Athletics Handbook, which outlines expectations for academics, citizenship, training rules, commitment, and sportsmanship.

Our coaches are keenly aware of their obligations and responsibilities as representatives of our school. They are also expected to follow the procedures outlined in the Coaches’ Handbook. Recognizing the tremendous influence of their positions, NWC coaches strive to instill in our student-athletes the ideals and character traits that are consistent with the philosophy of Northwest Catholic High School.
