Northwest Catholic is pleased to announce that two seniors, Matthew Deneen of Windsor and Harrison Waterbury of Avon, were named Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.
This pair of stand-out scholars were among approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, or PSAT/NMSQT.
Upon learning of Harrison’s and Matthew’s success, Northwest Catholic Principal Christopher Stuck said, “I have been impressed with these two gentlemen since they were freshmen. Both have achieved great things in and out of the classroom and have contributed greatly to the Northwest Catholic community. Both Harry and Matthew certainly have earned this prestigious commendation.”
