Northwest Catholic Senior Caroline Rutenberg of Farmington spends her afternoons at the Foodshare warehouse in Bloomfield sorting through food, water, and supplies to be distributed to families in need during this challenging time.
Covid-19 has made it especially difficult for people who are food insecure, some for the first time in their lives, to get enough to eat and find healthy meals for their families. Volunteers are always needed. Caroline said, “It’s very important we all pitch in to help them during these times.”
Foodshare is a pantry-on-wheels that brings fresh produce and other food to more than 15,000 visitors each month throughout Hartford and Tolland counties. To learn more about how you can help, visit foodshare.volunteerhub.com
