Please contribute to NWC's Annual Turkey Drive!

Final collections for NWC's Annual Turkey Drive will be held A Period MONDAY. Donations marked "turkey drive" may also be given to Mr. Martin in the main office.

Sophomore class officers are posting 1 paper turkey beside each homeroom door for every $20 raised by that homeroom. The goal is to purchase 80 turkeys for the Catholic Worker and even more for Foodshare. (Foodshare alone needs 16,000 turkeys this year.)

Please see a sophomore class officer if you have any questions, and THANK YOU for your support!

Please donate to ACTS Thanksgiving Food Drive

The sophomores need our help to buy the turkeys, and the ACTS class wants to get the sides! 60-80 turkeys will be delivered to the Catholic Worker House on November 19, and we want to bring the ingredients to go with it – 5 lb bags of potatoes, bags of carrots, bunches of celery, stuffing mix, biscuit mix and corn bread mix, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, and dessert mixes. Bring your food donations to your A period class…along with your turkey money! Donations will be picked up the morning of November 19 and will be delivered to families by Monday afternoon. Thank you!

Please leave NWC by 4pm tomorrow.

On Friday, November 16 at 4pm construction will continue on the Pride Café project that requires water service to be temporarily turned off in the building. Bathrooms will be unavailable and closed during the time of water shutoff. We ask that students are out of the building by 4pm. Anyone remaining in the building will not have access to water for an indeterminate period of time. We will notify everyone when water service has resumed.

Sarah Lamberty '21

For her big goal this past Tuesday and her amazing playing this entire season, this week's Athlete of the Week is Sarah Lamberty! The field hockey team played against New Fairfield in their first round of the state tournament. The team ultimately lost 5-2, but the girls put up a good fight and Sarah scored the first goal for Northwest. Sarah has stepped up when her team needs it most whether it be goals, assists, or encouragement. She is not only a very strong and fast player but also exceptionally strategic on the field. Head Coach, Mr. Cahill, says, "Sarah was our leading goal scorer this season with 16 goals in 17 games, including a big game-tying goal in our tournament game at New Fairfield. She was among the top five scorers in the CCC (15 teams) and a big reason why we were able to finish 5th in the standings. Sarah is our fastest player and did a great job using her speed to create scoring opportunities from her left-wing position. Sarah could have scored even more, but she played very unselfishly and often looked for an open teammate before taking a shot. Sarah had a fantastic season, and to think she is only a sophomore, who will be back next season with a strong group of nine returning starters."Sarah has been a key player this season in helping the girls field hockey team have the second best record in the school's history. Way to go Sarah!
