Today’s students become tomorrow’s leaders at Northwest Catholic High School. As Connecticut’s premier co-ed, Catholic, college preparatory school, Northwest Catholic provides a welcoming yet challenging environment that gives students a place to excel and belong as they discover their own potential.
From our rigorous academic curriculum, to our exceptional athletic teams, to our inspiring student life and character-building activities, Northwest Catholic provides opportunities for all students to learn and grow in a remarkable educational setting, grounded in Catholic faith and moral values.
Northwest Catholic’s diverse student body, expert faculty and staff, and forward-looking philosophies make it the ideal place for tomorrow’s leaders to prepare for success in our evolving global society.
Northwest Catholic offers an outstanding, college preparatory, academic program rooted in the Catholic Tradition. Academic excellence remains the key component of Northwest Catholic’s mission. Students are supported by the fundamentals of the program and challenged by a broad array of Honors and Advanced Placement classes. Students receive a foundation in religion, history, math, science, English, languages and the arts, which allows them to learn to read more closely, think more carefully, and write more clearly.
As a Catholic school, faith is an important part of life at Northwest Catholic. We welcome students of all faiths to our community - 21% of Northwest Catholic students are not Catholic. Mass is celebrated at the school each month and the chapel is always open for prayer, with adoration held every Friday in the chapel. Our chaplain, Fr. David Dawson, is at the school each week and is available to speak to students in the Campus Ministry Office. In addition, students go on retreat once a year.
Northwest Catholic cherishes our relationship with the approximately 7500 people who have graduated from Northwest since 1965. Our goal is to keep you informed of alumni events, the latest achievements of our students and other special events and programs, including class reunions and alumni receptions.
Northwest Catholic firmly believes that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. Thus, we seek a partnership with parents in our mission to educate the minds, bodies, spirits, and souls of their teenagers, and we encourage parents to take an active role in this effort.
Parents who participate in school life reap the benefits of friendship and camaraderie of other parents while supporting the efforts of the students. Northwest Catholic is "the school where you know you belong," and that includes parents!
