High School Chinese Teacher (Part Time Position)

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to differentiate curriculum, teach multiple levels within a department, foster a positive work environment, and be a contributing member of our team. Preference will be given to those who possess strong leadership ability. Prior experience successfully teaching high school Chinese and working with an international student population preferred.

Professional qualifications:

  • Must be a practicing member of a faith community
  • Passion for and understanding of his or her field of study
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in field or 24 credit hours in the primary content taught
  • 12 hours of education classes or a valid state certificate in content area preferred
  • Willingness to support high school students in his or her spiritual and intellectual formation
  • Willingness to publicly support and live out the values of the Gospel as taught by the Catholic Church
  • Willingness to incorporate the above values into instruction at the high school level
  • Able to apply current principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to classroom instruction within his or her area of expertise
  • Understanding of, and willingness to use, curriculum design and mapping
  • Interest in (and strong ability to use) educational technology in the classroom including the use of 1-1 iPad technology, Smart boards, Apple Classroom, etc.
  • 1-3 years’ experience and a Master's Degree preferred

Campus Ministry/ Religion Teacher

The Campus Ministry position is appointed by and reports to the Head of School. Campus Ministry develops and implements spiritual programs and religious/service activities.

This position works in cooperation and collaboration with the Campus Ministry Team, Dean of Students, Religion department, students, and staff to enhance the spiritual and prayer life of the school.

Duties and responsibilities include:

1. Planning and executing student and professional staff retreats.
2. Assisting with the organization of school liturgies.
3. Providing opportunities for all students to serve in leadership roles in ministry to the community.
4. Fostering an environment that embraces students and staff in a caring community.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

IT Network Engineer (Full Time Position)

Position Description

The IT Network Engineer is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Technology and Operations. He/she will have the ability to handle the day-to-day maintenance and support of all technology related applications, hardware, software, and technology equipment at Northwest Catholic. This position requires literacy in a PC and Mac based environment, strong problem-solving and customer service skills, and the ability to anticipate and respond to challenges that can arise in any educational/professional IT network environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintain and support the hardware, software, and equipment – including preventive maintenance and urgent repair
2. Respond to NWC IT Help Desk requests for faculty, staff, and student needs
3. Collaborate with support consultants to learn the specific network environment, schedule upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
4. Participate in project work with the Director of Technology to plan and complete large-scale technology initiatives

 

Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications:

Technical proficiency required in:

* Microsoft applications (Windows OS, PC imaging, Office Suite and Office 365, Active Directory)
* Apple Operating Systems (Mac OS and iOS)
* LAN/WAN infrastructure management

Familiarity preferred with:

* VMware (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and virtual servers)
* Web filter security, data backup, and antivirus and malware solutions
* Wireless network management
* Mobile Device Management

Qualified candidates will have: a Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience (2-3+ years) in a technology-support role; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem solving skills; and strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.

This is a year-round, salaried-exempt position that may require occasional evening or weekend availability and/or a flexible daily schedule. Adequate physical ability is required to navigate all areas of the school building and perform necessary duties that can require moving and lifting hardware.

Advancement Office Administrator

Position Description (Part-time Position)

Northwest Catholic High School (NWC) seeks an experienced, detail-oriented, flexible, and motivated self-starter to join its Advancement Office team as its Administrator.  This position is a part-time (20-25+ hours per week), 12 month position that reports to the Director of Advancement and supports all members of the Advancement team and the Head of School.  The Administrator will manage all gift processing and acknowledgements; perform data entry and maintain the integrity and consistency of the constituent database; manage financial reporting and serve as department liaison to NWC’s Finance Office; support department administrative needs; assist with organizing and executing Advancement events; and professionally interact with NWC constituents.

Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, good written and oral communication skills, a proven track record of managing detail-oriented systems, experience working with financial data and tracking, experience using a complex database (Raiser’s Edge preferred), fluency in Word and Excel, and a willingness to join a collaborative team to handle a wide range of responsibilities on behalf of Northwest Catholic. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process, record, and deposit all income generated through Advancement Office efforts and events.
  • Generate acknowledgments for all gifts.
  • Prepare financial reports and reconcile with Finance Office as needed.  
  • Manage and strive for accuracy in all aspects of the constituent database, including data input, updates, queries, reports, etc.
  • Manage all administrative tasks necessary to support Advancement team members (mailings, reports, filing, etc.).
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain standards of professional competence and adhere to a professional code of ethical conduct and confidentiality. 
  • Communicate professionally with all NWC constituents in person, in writing, and by phone.
  • Work occasional weekend and evening hours as needed to support Advancement activities and events.
