Volunteering at NWC
There are many opportunities to volunteer at NWC. Our Parents' Club hosts the President’s Reception in May for incoming students; a Teacher Appreciation lunch during Catholic Schools Week in January; and a major fundraiser called Saturday Night Live in November. Parents also assist with a variety of recruitment and advancement activities, especially phonathons and the annual golf tournament.
Parents are also encouraged to support our athletics, fine and performing arts program, or any other group that needs support. We need your help serving pasta at a team supper, working concessions at basketball games, in the Pep Shop and working on the many musicals, plays and choir/instrumental performances, including selling refreshments at events. Any parent or guardian interested in becoming a NWC volunteer is required to attend a VIRTUS Training. VIRTUS is a national program created by the Catholic Church for all employees and volunteers working with children in schools and parishes to deal with the issue of child sexual abuse-both proactively and reactively. You may attend any date at any convenient location listed on the VIRTUS website. If you have already attended a VIRTUS Training session, please contact Katie Rose with your information; you do not need to attend another one.
