Northwest Catholic High School seeks a knowledgeable and self-motivated person for the role of Facilities Manager. Reporting to the President of Northwest Catholic, this role requires hands-on engagement of school facility needs in support of the on-campus student experience.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands best practices in facilities management, health and safety in the workplace, bidding and procurement processes, and maintenance staff supervision. Multi-tasking, taking initiative, leading projects, and acting as both a problem-solver and a problem-preventer are required.
This is a (12) month salaried position. Ordinary work hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm. An attractive benefits package including 403(b), medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, and support for professional development will be provided.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- With advisement from the school Principal, directs the daily facilities management of the school campus
- Assigns custodial responsibilities and supervises staff members
- Serves in an on-call, primary contact capacity for emergency situations
- Performs and/or schedules preventative maintenance and repair work
- Secures, coordinates with, and supervises outside vendors
- Prepares an annual facilities budget
- Develops and monitors a daily/weekly/monthly workflow calendar
- Develops and monitors a feedback system regarding the day-to-day safety and cleanliness of the campus
- Coordinates snow removal operations, summertime deep cleaning work, and work-study student crews
- Maintains records in areas related to buildings and grounds management
- Maintains an updated inventory of buildings and grounds equipment and supplies
- Supervises the inspection and monitoring of safety and security systems (e.g., fire alarms, smoke/heat detectors, sprinkler systems, security alarms, fire extinguishers, equipment alarms), buildings and grounds equipment (e.g., generators, lighting systems, HVAC, and plumbing), and school-owned vehicles
- Schedules and supervises field prep and grounds work
- Manages facility rentals and schedules staff coverage as needed
- Performs related responsibilities as assigned by the President.
Qualifications:
- An enthusiasm for Catholic education
- An understanding of facilities management in an institutional setting preferred
- Knowledge of building codes regarding the use, repair, and / or improvement of public buildings
- Familiarity with trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and best practices
- The ability to multi-task and address time-sensitive situations
- The ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and operate facilities equipment
