College Preparation

Guiding Students on the Journey

Our counselors help students reach their potential by providing academic advisement with personal attention. Our goal is to cultivate successful, well-rounded students who are empowered to achieve their individual goals and are prepared for success in college and beyond.

We understand the college planning process can feel overwhelming. However, we believe the journey should be rewarding. Our counselors’ collective knowledge offers a reassuring perspective. Together we provide many years of experience and its attendant wisdom to our students and their families as they navigate this challenging trek.

At Northwest Catholic we honor every student and his or her chosen road. We also understand we are a college preparatory school and 98% of our graduates will continue their education at colleges and universities across the nation. The Counseling Department helps our students begin their journey to college at the start of freshman year and guides them through this exhilarating process with expertise, sensitivity to each student’s needs, and commitment to being the best college preparatory school it can be.

Step by Step

The Road to College begins when a student opens the door to Northwest Catholic, as preparing young men and women for the academic, personal, and spiritual challenges they will face in college is our primary mission. That preparation begins in freshman year and carries through to graduation. School counselors engage with students in developmentally appropriate activities, which incorporate both group and individual counseling sessions. The School Counseling Department strives to support and educate students and help them reach their personal potential.  The following timeline details that journey.
