The President's Creative Arts Scholarship is presented annually, beginning in 9th grade, to student-artists (studio art, graphic design, photography, and mixed media art) with demonstrated potential for artistic growth. The scholarship is a $2,000 per year merit-based award. Prospective NWC students with a completed enrollment application are encouraged to apply.

Applicants need to submit the following:

  1. A Personal Statement of Interest by the student regarding how art has affected his or her life, as well as the student's aspirations as a Northwest Catholic student-artist (200-400 words or fewer).
  2. A Video Portfolio, of no more than five minutes, consisting of three to five self-produced works by the student. The student must provide a brief description of each work and the techniques utilized. Email [email protected] with your video or video link.
  3. A Letter of Recommendation from the student's present or past art instructor that speaks to the student's interest and potential for growth as an artist. The letter is to be submitted as an attachment to this application.

Scholarship Recipient Requirements

  1. The student must demonstrate a high-level of artistic potential throughout their Northwest Catholic years. 
  2. The student must show progressive improvement in their applied arts throughout each school year.
  3. The student must submit at least one self-produced work to an outside local/regional/national competition on an annual basis.
  4. The student must maintain an (A) range average in all music classes.
  5. The student shall maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
  6. The student must successfully complete at least one Northwest Catholic studio arts (or related departmental) course each school year of enrollment.
  7. Recipient agrees to display their work at both the Christmas Art Show and the Spring Art Show.
