Titles: World Language Department Chair Ana C. Barrett has taught Spanish at Northwest Catholic for 50 years! She has served as the Chair of the World Languages Department since the 1980s. Ms. Barrett loves teaching her students to appreciate the language, literature, and culture of Spanish speaking communities as much today as when she first joined the NWC community. She takes great pride in instilling a passion for foreign language in her students who often go on to major or minor in Spanish in college as well as to careers that allow them to utilize their language skills to foster diverse communities. Ms. Barrett attended the University of Panama in her hometown of Panama City, Panama before completing her B.S. and M.A. in Spanish at Central Connecticut State College—now Central Connecticut State University. In her spare time, she is an avid gardener and traveler. |
