Biography
Titles: Science Department Chair Departments: Science Mark Dodd has been teaching at Northwest Catholic for 16 years. He is currently the Chair of the Science Department. Mr. Dodd earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut, his M.B.A. from Rennsalear Polytechnic Institute in Hartford, and a second Master’s, another degree in Biology, from the University of Saint Joseph. Mr. Dodd remembers studying biology in 4th grade and being so interested in the subject that he thought he might one day be a biology teacher. (He calls this one of many "Nerd Alerts.") He didn’t know then that the seeds had been sown for his career — seeds that would lay dormant for many years. Mr. Dodd came to teaching the way of the corporate world. Today he puts his business and biology acumen to work at NWC and sets the bar high for his students. He believes low expectations lead to low outcomes. When he’s not teaching, Mr. Dodd can be found climbing mountains and hiking in the woods.
