Titles: English Department Chair Departments: English After graduating cum laude with a B.A. in English from York College, C.U.N.Y., Ms. Keating-McKeon completed a teaching fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she earned an M.A. in English Literature, and was working on her dissertation toward a Ph.D in English and Linguistics before she followed her heart, relocating to Connecticut and getting married. During her time at UMC, Ms. Keating-McKeon taught 40 English courses involving literature, exposition, and technical writing, being honored three times as “Graduate Teacher of the Year.” Ms. Keating-McKeon taught at Northwest Catholic for two years before attending the University of Connecticut School of Law, where, as a student, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Connecticut Journal of International Law and a Deans Fellow instructor of Legal Writing and Research. She practiced law for a number of years, successfully arguing cases in all courts, including the Connecticut Supreme Court. In 1997 Ms. Keating-McKeon returned to Northwest Catholic, from which her son proudly graduated in 2008. She is currently the Chair of the English Department and Mock Trial Moderator. She enjoys being part of this very special Northwest Catholic community.
