Director of Advancement/Full-Time Area:  Advancement/Alumni  Supervisor: President

Position Description Under the direction of the President, the Director of Advancement is responsible for designing and directing all fundraising, alumni and parent relations, events, print and electronic communication, marketing, and public relations.  The role of the Advancement Office is to continue to strengthen and enhance the future of Northwest Catholic through the meaningful involvement of the community in the school’s mission, vision and strategic plan.  This position collaborates extensively with the Principal, Dean of Students, Directors, NWC School Board, Alumni and Parents. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advance the mission, values, and strategic vision of NWC with the President and senior administrative team.
  • Work closely with the President in all phases of his advancement and campaign leadership activities.
  • Serve as a member of the NWC Senior Leadership Team and maintain close working relationships with members of the School Board and key alumni/parents/friends.
  • Maintain a dynamic portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and secure major, capital, and planned gifts, as well as annual gifts and endowment support.
  • Create and execute fund raising plans that utilize best practices in annual giving, major donor cultivation, and planned gift programs to meet fundraising goals.
  • Implement dynamic, inclusive processes in all phases of donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Continue work on the Annual campaign through comprehensive and effective campaign planning and execution in conjunction with any/all outside consultants and internal personnel.
  • Manage, train, inspire and guide direct reports and the entire advancement team toward accountable, goal-oriented outcomes.
  • Develop annual plans and comprehensive budgets for Alumni and Parent Relations, Annual Fund, Gift Planning, Comprehensive Campaigns, Major Gifts, Grant Development, Stewardship and Advancement Services.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, coaches, and campus departments whose cooperation is essential to effective outreach and fund raising.
  • Serve as the staff liaison for Institutional Advancement to the School Board and the Board Committees on Advancement and Finance.
  • Provide leadership oversight for all constituent relations programs.
  • Oversee and insure proper contact with scholarship donors, including annual financial reports; a brief description of the student recipient’s accomplishments; and brief personal thank you note from the recipients.
  • Work closely with Director of Communications to implement effective internal and external messaging and methods of advancement communication and social media; provides written copy as needed.
  • Oversee all website aspects of the Advancement Office and Alumni Apps and outreach via the web and social media.
  • Serve as an exemplary NWC ambassador in the community, with local leaders, religious organizations, business and corporate partnerships, and other leaders, and build relationships that closely link the community with Northwest Catholic.
  • Be active and involved in the advancement profession and professional networking.
  • Embody values of faith, respect, diverse community, leadership and service and education of the whole person. 
  • Treat members of the campus community with fairness, dignity, and respect - seeking a spirit of unity and harmony to achieve a common mission.
  • All other duties as assigned by the President.
  • Travel is required: the Director of Advancement must be willing to travel in his or her work with donors and as a representative of Northwest Catholic

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Adequate physical ability to navigate our campus and travel.
  • Ability to lift 10-20 lbs
  • Ability to manage Microsoft Office applications and fundraising software and technology.
  • This is a full-time, twelve-month, administrative position.  The ability to be available for evening events, weekends and travel is required.

High School Social Studies Teacher (Full Time Position)

Northwest Catholic High School is searching for a dynamic Social Studies teacher. We are currently accepting applications for a position teaching United States History.  Ability to teach Advanced Placement United States History required.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to differentiate curriculum, teach multiple levels within a department, foster a positive work environment, and be a contributing member of our team. Preference will be given to those who possess strong leadership ability.

Professional qualifications:

  • Must be a practicing member of a faith community
  • Passion for and understanding of his or her field of study
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in field or 24 credit hours in the primary content taught
  • 12 hours of education classes or a valid state certificate in content area preferred
  • Willingness to support high school students in his or her spiritual and intellectual formation
  • Able to apply current principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to classroom instruction within his or her area of expertise
  • Understanding of, and willingness to use, curriculum design and mapping
  • Interest in (and strong ability to use) educational technology in the classroom including the use of 1-1 iPad technology, Apple Classroom, etc.
  • 1-3 years’ experience and a Master's Degree preferred

Assistant Director of Admissions  Status: Part –Time; 28 hours

Area: Enrollment  Supervisor: Director of Admissions

Position Description

The Assistant Director of Admissions is a 12-month position that reports to the Director of Admissions and works closely with the Director of Communications.  The Assistant Director of Admissions is the primary point of contact for prospective students and families. This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.  The Assistant Director of Admissions sits on the Recruitment committee.     

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Educate and advise prospective students and parents about each step of the admission process.
  • Coordinate admissions events including campus open house, school fairs, entrance exams, shadow days, recruiting events and accepted students’ night. The position includes evening and weekend commitments, concentrated in the fall and spring.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews as needed.
  • Review files and evaluate applicants for admissions.
  • Manage student volunteers.
  • Coordination of Student Ambassador Program, including meetings, training and event planning.
  • Serve as an active member of the admissions team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to achieve the school's enrollment goals.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in recruitment and retention of students.
  • Work with Director of Communications to create a marketing strategy.
  • Embody values of faith, respect, diverse community, leadership and service and education of the whole person. 
  • Treat members of the campus community with fairness, dignity, and respect - seeking a spirit of unity and harmony to achieve a common mission.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and valid driver’s license.
  • Progressive admission/enrollment experience or comparable experience in   education; experience in planning and implementing a comprehensive recruitment program.
  • Experience with MS office.
  • The successful candidate will be a team player, who is goal driven and detail-oriented.
  • The successful candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task.

Head Girls Soccer Coach - Fall Season

NWC Girls Soccer is an established, successful, energized team.  They have 4 championships, 6+ championship game appearances, and over 15 tournament runs.  This program maintains a balance between success on the field and in the classroom.  It is a JV and Varsity program that develops student-athletes over 4 years.  The program has sent numerous student-athletes to play at the college level.  The team plays in the Central Connecticut Conference and in the M division for the state tournament.
